Dagnabbit....Elephants Forget

I realize the title makes no sense, but I was trying to use the letters from the three days I forgot to post! I didn't really forget, forget, but on all the days I didn't realize until it was "crawling into bed o'clock" and thought "I'll just post it in the a.m.", then when I'd wake up in the morning, life would happen and *poof* another day gone. So...I'm taking the off day to catch up. I don't know of that means Monday is "F" or "G"...I'll decide tomorrow and go with the flow. Lol
Thanks for sticking with me though...now I gotta get back to that life thing!

Cuppy-cakes

There is something so innocent, but sinful about a cake that can fit in the palm of your hand.
Moist chocolate, rich vanilla, creamy fluffy frosting.
They can be messy, they can be filled, they can be sweet or savory.
I look forward to holidays, gatherings, events at my husbands work, just so I can go nutso and create tiny, delicious masterpieces.
Don't get me wrong, I am more than a one trick pony (I've actually never seen a pony perform a trick) I can bake or cook anything you put in front of me, but cupcakes are my go-to. That treat that gets the most "oooh's and ahhh's" when they're seen and eaten. And lets face it folks, we need a little ego boosting now and again...some of us more than others....

I have made such flavors as
Peppermint Mocha (Mocha cake with Peppermint frosting)
Eggnog (kind of self explanatory)
Irish Car Bombs (Guiness chocolate cake, whiskey ganache filling and Irish cream frosting)
Cinnamon Toast Crunch (cinnamon cake with a cinnamon toast crunch frosting)
Apple/Cinnamon (apple cider cake, snicker doodle frosting)
And lots more.

Thing is, I'm running out of new ideas, so I'm asking for suggestions!
Comment below and tell me either your favorite cupcake flavor, or one that sounds good
Be wacky, throw out anything that sounds good. Who knows, maybe yours will be the one I make next!
Which would probably be awesome if I were famous, and you were a fan....but I'm not, so we'll just pretend!
1, 2, 3....go!

Beating the clock

I had the busiest day today, that I've had in a long time. I just barely sat down...and its on the edge of my bed, on the verge of crawling in and falling into a comatose state.
I completely forgot to plan my post so...here it is.

Hey...no judging. At least I made a post today! Now I can fall asleep knowing everything I set out to accomplish today...was done.

Excuse me while I pat myself on the back.

*pats back*

Till tomorrow. G'night Y'all

About time!

I look forward to the A-Z blogging challenge every year. Mainly because I love to write, but I can never get myself to sit and put my thoughts into words. This challenge forces me to do just that!

So let me start out by telling you a little about me...

I was born into the nuttiest, craziest, weirdest family I've ever met, and they helped to mold me into the genuinely nutty person typing before you today.
I think if I had to choose one word to describe me, it would be "Eclectic". I'm a big ball of everything rolled into one awesome person.
On an average day you'll usually find me chasing after my two girls, cleaning my house and doing things that a domesticated wife does. However, there's a lot more to this girl than doing laundry and reading bedtime stories.
As I mentioned above, I love to write. I wrote my first story when I was 8 years old. I found an old typewriter in the back of my parents closet, fitted with a dust cover, and ready to create the worlds that were trapped in my head. I have more composition books laying around my house than any normal person should. All half filled with ideas, story lines, lists, anything I can put on paper.
Music is usually playing somewhere in my house, or car. One day it'll be classic rock (AC/DC, Iron Maiden, Kansas, etc...) and the next it might be Pop, Country, or Rap. My husband always jokes he can tell what kind of mood I'm in based on what's playing that day!
I'm a self proclaimed nerd. I love everything that makes a nerd a nerd. I am currently surrounded by posters sporting characters such as Buffy, Dean & Sam (Supernatural), Marvel heroes, Anime, Video Games.

When I had to come up with a topic for this challenge I couldn't decide on just one, so I went back to an existing blog, where I can write, and dabble in my other love, photography.

I can't always say what the posts will be about. I have no idea. One day it might be something to do with food ( I love cooking) One day it might be a random thought, or story.

I am looking forward to seeing what I can come up with, and get my muse to wake up from her long slumber, to help out with some ideas!!

Happy Blogging Month!

Cinnamon Rolls, Cheesecakes & Cup Cakes

Typically you can tell what kind of mood I'm in based on how many baked goods are in the house. When I'm sad or stressed, there are generally 0 tasty treats available. When I'm happy, it's sickening how many things you need to polish off before they go stale.

There is something so "zen" about baking, watching the mixer combine all the ingredients, kneading dough, smelling the goodness in the air as the oven magically transforms your pile of dough, into a masterpiece.

I frequently make cupcakes for my husbands work. He works for a local coffee roaster, in the warehouse. I will say I love sending the treats, because it fluffs my ego. And lets face it, we could all use a little ego fluffing every now an then! I've made Irish Car Bomb Cupcakes, Peppermint Mocha, Eggnog, Snickerdoodle with Apple Cider ( freshly pressed at his work) buttercream frosting! .....Is your mouth watering yet? Cause mine is!

I have a Pinterest addiction. It's ok, I know the first step of admitting you have a problem, is well.....accepting that you're an addict. But I'm not a quitter!! I'll keep on pinning. I love seeing all the fun, yummy goodies I can make, and plan on making in the future.

Many of my traditions and memories include baking. The smells of fresh bread, cinnamon rolls, cheesecakes, pies.

If I had the resources I would totally open my own little cart, or cafe. Sell yummy treats to the masses. Sell the coffee from my hubby's work. How awesome would that be?!
If you'd like to donate some funds to my dream, they will be greatly accepted. Go ahead and contact me for my information and mailing address!
I'm just kidding......kind of!

Buffy

When I tell people I'm a Buffy fan, I get one of two reactions....

1.) The eyebrow raised, sideways mouth, head cocked to one side, "really?" reaction

Or
2.) The eyes light up, grin from ear to ear, squeel of joy "OMG, me too!" reaction.

I've never met a "grey area" Buffy fan. Either you love it, or you don't. This isn't just a show, it's a lifestyle! The people in the show are my friends, I feel like when life is getting a bit to chaotic or depressing, I can pick a random episode and feel better. Watching Buffy is like visiting an old friend.
You have the brains in Willow. You need questions answered, or someone to look into something for you, she's your girl. You need a laugh, or a comforting hug, Xander is there. A father figure who's there to look out for you, not just because he has to, but because he wants to, Giles. And the girl who will throw on her kick butt boots to save your ass, Buffy.

I went all nerd fest and even got a tattoo that simply says "WWBD" on my wrist. I know, I know, I got the "really" reaction from those outside the Buffy circle, and the "That's awesome" reaction from those who understand. But when things come up in my life that I don't know how to handle, I look at those words, and re think my situation. What Would Buffy Do? It's simple, but it helps!

When my daughter was little, she didn't play "Barbie and Ken", she played "Buffy and Spike", my husbands and I's wedding rings are claudaugh rings! Buffy is and will always be a part of my life, and I'm damn proud of that!

April shall be one busy month!

My camera is always with me. Whether it be my actual camera, or my cell phone. I am ready to take aim and shoot. Photography is something that has always interested me.  We all see the world differently, to me, being a successful photographer, is being able to show others how YOU see the world.

A few months back my sister asked me to partake in a daily photo challenge with her, posting one picture a day, for a whole year. I did great for the first couple of weeks, but then I had some personal issues arise, and I no longer found happiness in pictures. I lost my muse. I lost my "eye" for pictures. I was depressed.
Well...things aren't better, but they are starting to look up again. I am finding inspiration in things.
I heard about the A-Z April blog challenge, and decided it was a good way to get back into writing again. I also told my sister I would start posting my daily photos again April 1st, so I thought.....I should just combine the two. I will take a photo everyday, and have THAT be the subject of my blog post! BRILLIANT!
Well I struggled for days thinking what I could possibly take a picture of that started with "A", I kept saying
"I can't think of anything"
"I don't have anything"
So it dawned on me.....take a picture, of anything!
So here is the start of a new adventure this month.
To daily blog writing, and daily photo's, I WILL accomplish this, and I WILL be proud of myself.
If you're new to this blog, Welcome, and I hope you enjoy this ride with me. If you're an old friend, well then....you know what to expect, and thank you for sticking with me!
